Free Aligner Tracker: Check What Is Included
“Free to download” does not always mean free wear tracking. Before choosing a clear-aligner app, check which features work without payment, whether a trial needs a payment method, and what happens when a trial or preview ends.
If you want a tracker without a purchase, a notebook or your phone's timer and notes can record when aligners go in and out. Follow the wear goal and tray schedule your dental provider gave you. An app can make the routine easier, but it is a tool for consistency, not treatment advice.
What to check before installing
- Daily wear time: Can you start and stop a timer and see today's total without paying?
- Tray schedule: Are change-day reminders included, and can you adjust the schedule to your provider's plan?
- Progress photos: Can you capture and revisit photos, and where are they stored?
- Access terms: Is the app free to download, does it offer a time-limited preview or trial, and which features require a purchase afterward?
- Privacy: Read the app's privacy policy before adding personal treatment photos.

How TrayJourney access works
TrayJourney is free to download on iPhone and Android. Journey Pro unlocks daily wear and removal tracking, tray history, progress insights and photos, appointments, and an aligners-out nudge. Tray-change and appointment reminders are not available yet. Journey Pro is available as a monthly plan, an annual plan, or a one-time lifetime purchase. Monthly and annual plans may include a 7-day free trial for eligible customers; lifetime has no trial. There is also a one-time 24-hour free preview that needs no payment method. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled.
The free download lets you open the app and Profile. Home, Progress, and Appointments require Journey Pro after any available preview or trial. Check the current terms shown in your app store and at purchase; prices are localized by the store.
A simple tracking routine with or without an app
- Use the daily wear target your provider recommends; TrayJourney defaults to 22 hours and lets you change it.
- Note each time your aligners come out and go back in. TrayJourney uses a one-tap toggle rather than automatic detection.
- Record tray changes according to your provider's schedule.
- If you take progress photos, keep them private. TrayJourney syncs them to your private cloud storage; you can choose to show them at an appointment.
Is TrayJourney a free aligner tracker?
It is free to download, with a one-time 24-hour preview of tracking and possible 7-day trials for eligible monthly or annual customers. Ongoing wear tracking requires Journey Pro.
Can I track wear time without buying an app?
Yes. A timer and written log can work if you keep them up to date. An app can combine your log, tray schedule, photos, and reminders in one place.
Does an aligner tracker replace my provider?
No. A tracker helps you follow your plan between visits. Always use the wear target and clinical guidance from your orthodontist or dental provider.
